PSA Comments of the Day 2/17/16: You're way out of my league

I want you anyway [insert incredible baseball player here]

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Pitchers and catchers report tomorrow. It's very possible that we bloggers are super excited about it simply because we can finally/hopefully get new photos in the photo editor to use. Still though, it's just the first step into the 2016 season and the excitement will be palpable, followed by eager anticipation for Spring Training, followed by boredom with Spring Training games and longing for the season to begin. It's fantastic.

Speaking of fantastic, Yankee legend and official "clutchicity" sponsor Derek Jeter was at Captain's Camp to talk to some of the Yankees' minor league players. What would a Captain's Camp be without the last Yankee captain? Nothing, that's what! Just a regular camp. Top Yankee SS prospect Jorge Mateo, who recently said that he wants to follow in Jeter's footsteps, got to take a picture with him as Jeter took all of them out to dinner. Also pictured is Ricardo Ferreira, who might have the smoothest name of any prospect. Obviously Mateo has some legendary shoes to try and fill, but one would think the goal of a lot of young ballplayers would be to "Be the Jeter." I'm sure a lot of Yankee fans are rooting for him to do exactly that.

Comments of the Day

No COTDs yesterday. Well there was one, but it's down below in the HMM section.

GIF of the Day

Seriously, Yankees Twitter has been killing it lately. Well done, whomever is running that account now.

Honorable Mod Mention

Andrew wins the HMM for having the only blue'd comment yesterday. Also, his recent 96 Postseason retrospectives have been pretty awesome.

Fun Questions

  • If Derek Jeter was paying for your meal, what would you order at a restaurant?
  • If you were a minor league player listening to Derek Jeter talk about his experiences, what question(s) would you ask him?

Song of the Day

I Want You Anyway by Jon McLaughlin

It's PSA Staff Picks Love Songs Week on Pinstripe Alley. Today's selection comes from Miranda Kalish. A very nice selection if I do say so myself, which I just did. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. One more day.
