Around the Empire

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: As we put 2016 far, far, FAR behind us, it’s good to remember that certain prospects came up an excelled. That excellence is what the Yankees will be looking for in 2017. Gary Sanchez, Greg Bird, and the other kids will hopefully provide the offense that Tex, A-Rod, and McCann just didn’t have. Even with that, this article asks five questions that the Yankees will have to answer next season.

NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: The Yankees seem unwilling to trade high level prospects for any talent this offseason. That could simply mean that the Yankees are just waiting for the right deal to come along. Brian Cashman has stated that he doesn’t want any short term help for his now coveted farm hands. In other words, Kershaw for Frazier is currently in the works. Bank on it.

New York Daily News | Amara Grautski: Here is the last link/article for 2016. It is a video of Alex Rodriguez’s daughter hitting a home run and doing an epic batflip afterwards. There is no better way to end this year than by watching this.

Fun Questions

  • If you hit a dinger, would you go with a batflip or a batdrop?
  • How many combined dingers will Greg Bird and Gary Sanchez hit in 2017?
