Around the Empire

ESPN.com: The Yankees and Red Sox are looking to escape the evil confines of Sunday Night Baseball. The most logical step is to travel to London to play a series there. If this series takes place in the shadow of Big Ben, it most likely wouldn’t happen until the 2018 season. By then, the Yankees will be defending World Champions.

FanGraphs | Jeff Sullivan: As you may or may not have heard, the Pirates signed former Yankee legend Ivan Nova to a three-year, $26 million dollar deal. The free agent market showed a poor state of affairs when it came to starting pitching. With that in mind, this deal for Nova might wind up being a bargain for him, as he was one of the better starters on the market.

MLBTradeRumors | Jeff Todd: Jose Bautista is still on the market while his former teammate Edwin Encarnacion is heading for Cleveland. Word is starting to come out that Joey Bats would be willing to accept a one-year deal. That could indicate a desire to stay in Toronto. Only time will tell.

Fun Questions

  • Would you sign Jose Bautista to a one-year deal if you were Brian Cashman?
  • Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions? If so, what?
