Around the Empire

Newsday | Jordan Lauterbach: There has been much debate and discussion regarding Aroldis Chapman being back. One person who is glad to have him back is CC Sabathia, the Yankees #2 starter on the roster. Sabathia, who was competing for their #5 spot last year, understands the strength of a bolstered bullpen and that Chapman makes their bullpen one of the bolsteredest bullpens around. He also thinks the Yankees can compete next year. Here’s hoping. Praise be.

New York Post | Joel Sherman: There has also been some talk of people wanting the Yankees to trade Chase Headley. Wanting to chase Headley away is not a bad thing, but the options to replace him are somewhat limited. With Miguel Andujar not quite ready, Ronald Torreyes is their current best option. They could sign Luis Valbuena to replace him. Or just put A-Rod back there for no reason. Let’s get nuts!

Pinstriped Prospects | Jed Weisberger: There has most certainly been some talk of the Yankees’ starting rotation question marks. Brian Cashman has stated that he’s given up on the season and suggests everyone flee for Queens with the current options out there, they will probably have to look internally for answers. Chance Adams and Jordan Montgomery could potentially be those answers. Spring Training will make for some interesting competition in that regard. There’s definitely some competition for the punnability of their names.

Newsday: The Yankees’ annual holiday food drive is one of their best traditions. This year marks the 23rd year of their food drive at Yankee Stadium. CC Sabathia was on hand to help hand out food. This article is just mainly photos of the food drive. They are great photos though.
