Around the Empire
New York Daily News | Christian Red: Brian Cashman has a pretty set goal in mind for this offseason. You’ve probably heard of it. It rhymes with “smarting snitching” or just plain “snitching.” Yes, the Yankees front office will be focused on finding pitching. The market for starting pitching is pretty weak, so Cashman might have to make some ninja trades to help sure everything else.
NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: Now that the baseball is done with for 2016, the odds are starting to come in for the winners of the 2017 World Series. A wise man once said “Never tell me the odds.” I’m going to ignore that though. The Yankees have 25/1 odds to win the World Series next year. Place your bets.
NJ.com | Randy Miller: The Mets, our baseball cousins from across the Triboro Bridge, recently picked up the option of Jay Bruce. Whether the Mets keep him or trade him is anyone’s guess. One AL exec thinks he might make a good fit on the Yankees due to Yankee Stadium being a dinger friendly environment. I can almost hear the fans yelling Boo-ruce already.
Awful Announcing | Alex Putterman: Despite the Yankees not being in the big dance, this was one of the most incredible World Series ever. Alex Rodriguez helped contribute to it in with the mic. His notes and analysis were a huge hit, as was his banter with his co-hosts. Here are some of the best moments.
- Should the Yankees try for Jay Bruce?
- Do you name your inanimate objects?
Song of the Day
On Our Own by Bobby Brown
It’s Fright Week on Pinstripe Alley. This song isn’t really frightening, but it comes from a scary movie. Okay, it comes from a comedy that deals with ghosts and busting them. Just enjoy the video. As always, please link us your song of the day.
