Ask Pinstripe Alley

It’s time for another edition of our Yankees mailbag. The Yankees have made a few moves since our last Ask PSA, including trading Brian McCann to the Astros, as well as trading James Pazos to the Mariners. It is still early in the offseason, so it is likely that Brian Cashman has many more moves up his sleeve.

It has been awhile since the Yankees actually signed a free agent, but they have reportedly been in contact with just about everyone. The list includes former Yankee Carlos Beltran, Edwin Encarnacion, Jose Bautista, Yoenis Cespedes, Aroldis Chapman, and Kenley Jansen. It might make the most sense to bring in a designated hitter at this point, but it remains to be seen if the Yankees will actually sign any free agents.

December was a busy month last year as far as Yankee trades went. Cashman not only acquired Starlin Castro from the Cubs, but also shipped Justin Wilson to the Tigers, and put together the deal that brought over Chapman. Perhaps Yankees fans are in store for a December chock-full of trades.

Waiting for the Yankees to do stuff is boring, but we might as well hypothesize about the future in the meantime. Feel free to submit questions pertaining to the 2016 season, potential offseason moves, the 2017 season, or anything else Yankee-related. You can submit your questions in the comment section below, or you can submit your questions via email at pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail dot com. Answers will run over the weekend, so anything submitted by Saturday is fair game. Thanks!
