Around the Empire

MLB.com | Jim Callis: The Arizona Fall League is over with and the rankings for the prospects are in. Surprise surprise, Gleyber Torres was the number one prospect. Gleyber is good. James Kaprielian came in at number twelve and Miguel Andujar come in at number twenty-one. Encouraging things to see coming from our young prospects.

Fanrag | Jon Heyman: The Yankees have freed up some space and some money this offseason. According to Heyman, it looks like they are preparing to spend a bit. Aroldis Chapman is reportedly their primary target, but they would still like a big bat, some more relief help, and potentially a starter as well. Again, we all want things.

New York Post | Joel Sherman: As mentioned above, the Yankees are hoping to strengthen the pen a bit. One such player in their eyes was Brett Cecil. Sadly, Cecil was just signed by the Cardinals. There have even been talks of the Yankees bringing Boone Logan back for another go at it. Insert sarcastic “yay” right here.

New York Post | George A. King III: Finally, in a bit a thankful news, Chase Headley’s son Colt is improving and doing much better after the surgery he undertook early this year. It’s good to know that Chase and his family will have a Happy Thanksgiving tonight.
