Around the Empire
FanRag Sports | Paul Lebowitz: The Yankees have come a long way in their rebuild while contending, and now for the first time in a long time they have money coming off the books. Considering the money coming off the books, it’s tempting for the team to sign some big name players to fill roster holes. However, they risk sabotaging the long-term plans with their pursuit of star players such as Edwin Encarnacion and Yoenis Cespedes.
New York Post | Joel Sherman: The last few years, the Yankees have made decisions with their eyes set on the future. Avoiding spending on big free agents, and selling at this years trade deadline are examples of some of these moves. However, now the Yankees have roster needs and their mandate is still to compete while improving the future, so they have a 4 item wishlist for this offseason. Aroldis Chapman, more bullpen depth, a starter, and a hitter. The trick is to fill all their needs, while not risking the future.
Minor League Ball | Wayne Cavadi: Brian Cashman has been one of the busier GMs in baseball since July, and continued that going into this past weekend when he traded James Pazos for Zack Littell. Now Littell was known about Zack before he came over, but he’s coming off the best season of his young professional career. While he may never end up as the ace of the staff, general consensus is that he has the stuff to stick around as a major league starting pitcher.

Song of the Day
The Way I Am by Eminem
It’s Thanks Week on Pinstripe Alley. This week’s theme is about songs we are thankful to have in our life, and this song got me through some tough times in high school. Or good times? Maybe they were just regular times and I just listened to this song a lot. Who knows? Invent a time traveling machine, and go back to high school Kunj and ask him. As always, please link us your song of the day.
