The AL Rookie of the Year winner will be announced at 6pm tonight, and the Yankees’ own Gary Sanchez is in contention thanks tor his sensational 20-homer season. If he can beat out the other nominees (favorite Michael Fulmer and likely third place finisher Tyler Naquin), then he would become the first Yankee to win the award in 20 years. (Update: Alas, the BBWAA voted Fulmer.)
Nonetheless, Sanchez is in fine position to at least become the 14th Yankee to either win Rookie of the Year or finish runner-up since the award was established in 1947. How many of the 13 can you name? Let us know how you did!
