Saturday was already going to be a reduced playoff docket from the four-game marathon on Friday since both of the ALDS sets have a travel day. Hurricane Matthew knocked another one off though, as the Nationals and Dodgers will not be playing in DC tonight (never mind that it wasn't really raining there at game time and they had a window).
Nevertheless, there are two positives. The first is that tomorrow will have three games instead of two due to the postponement, and the other is that the baseball world will be even more focused on Wrigley Field. Thanks to a dominant effort from Jon Lester and Javier Baez's timely solo homer off the nearly as tough Johnny Cueto, the Cubs have a 1-0 lead in the series. They'll face an old friend tonight in Jeff Samardzija, but Kyle Hendricks was a surprise NL Cy Young contender this year for a reason.
With Madison Bumgarner looming in Game 3, the Cubs would love to grab the two-game cushion, but if the Giants can steal a game on the road, then they will have Bumgarner in prime position to suddenly put them up 2-1 in the series. So this should be a good one!
First pitch in Chicago will be at 8:05pm on MLB Network. Enjoy the baseball.
