There's more baseball today! The two American League Division Series showdowns begin shortly.
In the first game, the run differential-defying AL-best Rangers host the Wild Card winner Blue Jays in Arlington at a beautiful park that they are, of course, planning to leave in a few years. Whatever. It will be fine for now anyway. Playoff veteran Cole Hamels gets the nod against Marco Estrada. That game will start at 4:38 EST on TBS.
The nightcap will be in Cleveland as the Red Sox play the Indians. Unlike Toronto and Texas, these two teams have met in the playoffs multiple times before, even before divisional play began. In modern times, the Indians swept the Red Sox in the 1995 ALDS en route to the AL pennant, but Boston dispatched Cleveland in both the 1999 ALDS and the 2007 ALCS, coming back from down two games on both occasions to break Cleveland hearts. Trevor Bauer will face Rick Porcello, with first pitch coming at 8:08 EST (also on TBS).
Go not-Boston.
