American League Wild Card open thread: Orioles vs. Blue Jays

It’s the Battle of the Birds.

MLB: AL Wild Card-Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight, the 2016 MLB playoffs begin with the American League Wild Card game. Since the Tigers choked away a chance at it by losing consecutive games to the Braves (lol), it will be two of the Yankees’ AL East rivals squaring off for a chance to play the Rangers in the ALDS.

The Blue Jays host the Orioles north of the border at Rogers Centre with the action beginning at 8pm on TBS. Since both sides had to use their best pitchers (Aaron Sanchez and Kevin Gausman, respectively) on Sunday simply to clinch, the matchup is less exciting with Marcus Stroman facing Chris Tillman.

Since both teams have prolific offenses, expect a high-scoring affair but actually receive a tight 1-0 game because baseball will have none of your logic, thank you very much.

Enjoy the game and feel free to use this as an open thread!
