Around the Empire

New York Post | George A. King III: All eyes have been on the young players the Yankees got during the trade season this year. Clint Frazier and Gleyber Torres have slightly overshadowed prospects. One such prospect, Miguel Andujar, had a fantastic year. Scouts are already keeping their eyes on him in the AFL. Perhaps you should as well.

Baseball America | Staff Report: Speaking of Gleyber Torres, here is a brief look at how he’s doing in the AFL. I’ll give you a hint: he’s okay at the game of baseball. Torres should start the year in Double-A Trenton. Perhaps consider making a trip to see him around that time.

LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: FIRE GIRARDI!!! Actually, perhaps the Yankees shouldn’t fire him. This article takes a look at how Girardi might manage the team next year, and how it could be different due to the youth movement. Definitely worth a read.

LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: Finally, Chad gives us a look at the “team of lost Yankees.” Using the players the Yankees have either cut or traded away, Chad had enough over the span of 12 months to put together a team. Whether you think it’s good or not is entirely up to you.

Fun Questions

  • How many games do you think the “team of lost Yankees” would win in a season?
  • Do you put ketchup on your fries or on the side for dipping purposes?

Song of the Day

Clocks by Coldplay

It’s 2003 Week on Pinstripe Alley. It’s been fun to turn back the clock to that incredible Aaron Boone dinger. I figured this song would be appropriate for our decision. As always, please link us your song of the day.
