Around the Empire
New York Post | Mark Cannizzaro: Greg Bird is back and better than ever. Well, the latter remains to be seen. Thus far, he is hitting well in the Arizona Fall League. In this article, Bird talks about his stint on the DL and how painful it was to be away from the Yankees. We missed you too, Greg Bird.
LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: The Yankees have quite a few needs this offseason. This year of free agency might not provide all the solution. Odds are that the Yankees will once again look to upgrade the bullpen. With Dellin Betances still being one of the game’s best relievers, we will have to wait and see if they sign a closer or just more support for Dellin.
New York Daily News | Mark Feinsand: Alex Rodriguez is once again making his amazing presence known in the Fox broadcast booth. Yesterday, Analyst-Rod predicted that it would be a Indians-Cubs World Series. To be fair, that’s probably the safest bet. In any case, A-Rod certainly knows his baseball and it has been a pleasure listening to his analysis.
LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: Gleyber Torres is currently tearing up the Arizona Fall League. Fellow teammate Tyler Wade was moved to the center field position for the first time in his career. Torres was also moved to second base. The Yankees are trying to see what they have in all there shortstop prospects and where else they can be useful.
Fun Questions
- Are you comfortable with Dellin Betances as the closer?
- What would Greg Bird’s superhero code name be?

Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes by Paul Simon
It’s Fashion Week on Pinstripe Alley. Diamonds on the soles of someone’s shoes would be an interesting fashion statement. Or not. Honestly, I just wanted to hear something from Paul Simon’s Graceland. As always, please link us your song of the day.
