The Cleveland/Toronto ALCS matchup has been settled, but neither National League series is over yet. The Nationals' road win yesterday has given them a shot to knock out the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Dave Roberts will give the ball to his best, Clayton Kershaw, even though he will be on short rest and his back is not at full health. If the Dodgers can gut out a win, they will face Max Scherzer in a decisive Game 5 without Kershaw, but they just have to get there.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers' fiercest rival is up against elimination, too. Through the overwhelming sheer power of Even Year Bullshit, the Giants managed to pull out a super-late victory last night in the 13th inning despite Madison Bumgarner turning in a poor post-season outing for once. The Cubs were just five outs from sweeping San Francisco and moving on to the NLCS, but they'll have to dial it up again tonight. Matt Moore is no Bumgarner, so they should have a strong chance.
I'm personally rooting for as much baseball as possible, so go Dodgers & Giants. Game 5 for both matchups would be on Thursday. If they fall, it's whatever. At least the Fightin' Miller swept the Red Sox.
Enjoy the baseball!
