I guess Ronald Torreyes heard some people talkin' just the other day. He heard them say that the Yankees were going to put him on the shelf. But boy, I've got some news for you. I'm sure you already know if it's true. Because you're already gone. Torreyes, who was acquired by the Yankees earlier this month from the Dodgers, was put on waivers by the Yankees and now is heading back to Los Angeles but to play for the Angels this time. I guess one might say the Angels are his saving grace. And no, I have no regrets about that. Since he didn't spend too much time as a Yankee, he'll hardly be missed in New York but this is a funny little tidbit from this whole ordeal:
This isn't a knock on Torreyes, but the Angels system must be pretty bad for him to be that high on the list. Wish Billy Eppler the best of luck in trying to save that ship.
In other Yankee news, Dad-Rod/Suit-Rod was in full effect yesterday as A-Rod attended the University of Miami college basketball game to root for the team he almost played before signing with the Mariners in 1993. I think a Change.org petition to let A-Rod play in suits should be created and signed by everyone.

GIF of the Day
I was in a GIF-ing mood yesterday, so this happened. People apparently are anti-Cam Newton because he likes to dance. I'm sure if he were defending himself in court he'd say this:
And there was a time for this law, but not anymore. See, this is our time to dance. It is our way of celebrating life. It's the way it was in the beginning. It's the way it's always been. It's the way it should be now.
So come on, let's dance!
Honorable Mod Mention
Andrew wins for totally purposely scheduling the Graeme Lloyd post on Australia Day. Excellent planning, MEARNS.
- What's a Yankees related GIF or Photoshop you'd like to see? If I like the idea enough, it might just come true. (Keep it clean, people)
- Best Ronald Torreyes pun you can come up with?
Song of the Day
Already Gone by Eagles
It's Glenn Frey week on Pinstripe Alley. If you know Glenn Frey, you know his claim to fame was with the Eagles so eventually songs by the band would make their way to our SOTD section. Today's song seemed appropriate with the Yankees losing Torreyes to the Angels. "I'm already gone" is literally part of the lyrics, and that's pretty much the only way to describe his Yankee career. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. The Yankees should sign Tim Lincecum and make me a very happy person.
