On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair...

Breaking news out of Anaheim, baseball fans. The The Angels Angels of Anaheim (better know as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) have officially announced their signing of Al Alburquerque. The offseason might as well be over now. Even though news originally broke of the signing about five days ago, now that the Angels officially announced it, what else is left for any team to do? Oh I guess that Yoen-is still out there waiting to be signed. But he's no Alburquerque.

More baseball news also came from Motown, coincidentally where Alburquerque played for the last few years. The Detroit Tigers recently signed Justin Upton to a six-year deal. While the Tigers gave him an Upt-out (kudos, Greg) after two years, news came out that Upton also received a partial no-trade clause. There are reportedly 20 teams to which Upton can say no. Meaning that if the Tigers wanted to trade him, it may very well not be Upto(n) them.

Comments of the Day

One should not try and Esco-late Alcides' ranking to rank him higher than Didi.

Always. Just to be safe, fire him, re-hire him, and fire him again.

Remember this game against the Red Sox? Pepperidge Farm remembers, and so do I.

GIF of the Day

Did they?

Honorable Mod Mention

Harlan wins for getting two COTDs yesterday. I bet he Spence all day today feeling good about life.

Fun Questions

  • Check out this trailer for Suicide Squad. Does it look better than you expected?

Song of the Day

Hotel California by Vitamin String Quartet

It's Vitamin String Quartet week on Pinstripe Alley. This theme has now unfortunately taken two musicians' lives. Now this could all be a spooky coincidence, but it's really saddening that VSQ has this power. I believe Greg made the right call in continuing this week's theme as it stands, because I'm scared of what will happen if we try and make it VSQ week a third week in a row. As he said we'll honor Glenn Frey properly next week, here's a little something in the mean time. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Monday = Supergirl, Tuesday = The Flash, Wednesday = Arrow, Thursday = Legends of Tomorrow. How great are weekdays?! And yes, Bohemian Rhapsody was almost today's SOTD because of that trailer. Oh well, we can listen to it anyway.
