Remember a couple of days ago when I saw we were waiting to see how the AL East was shaping up? Do you also remember how I say that the Orioles were rumored to be fed up with Chris Davis? Yeah, forget what I said about the latter. The Orioles agreed to a seven year deal with Davis. During those seven years, he will earn $17 million a year. Afterwards, the O's get into Bobby Bonilla territory regarding the remainder of their payments. From 2023 to 2032, Davis will receive $3.5 million a year. Following that, he will receive $1.4 million from 2033 to 2037. Just like with the Mets and their contract for Bonilla, you can expect this to create plenty of humorous anecdotes in the future.
In other baseball news, former Yankees pitcher Ian Kennedy was signed by the Kansas City Royals. His contract with the Royals is for five years and $70 million dollars, with an opt-out clause after 2017. Yep. That happened alright.Comments of the Day
There were no COTDs yesterday.
GIF of the Day
How crazy was last night's game between the Cardinals and the Packers? The ref couldn't even flip the coin correctly.
Honorable Mod Mention
Shah definitely wins for his newest creation.
Fun Questions
- NFL Refs or baseball umpires? Which are worse?
- With the Orioles now potentially out on Cespedes after signed Davis, where do you think Cespedes winds up? (Picking the O's is still a choice.

Get Lucky by Vitamin String Quartet
It's back to Vitamin String Quartet week on Pinstripe Alley. This week was interrupted as we paid tribute to David Bowie. Now we are back to Shah's original selection. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. There's football on today. Which teams are you rooting for, if any?
