The Yankees have done nothing as of...oh wait. They actually did do something yesterday. Will wonders never cease. As Pinstripe Alley scribe, editor, and all around jolly fellow Jason Cohen wrote about yesterday, the Yankees traded Rob Segedin and A. PitBanal (a PTBNL) or cash to the Dodgers for Tyler Olsen and Ronald Torreyes. As Jason pointed out, this is pretty much just a depth for depth move between the two organizations. The important thing is that we currently won the pun name game aspect of this trade. Way to go, Cashman.
In other baseball and pun name game news, Wei-Yin Chen was signed by those wacky Loria run Miami Marlins yesterday. He will receive a five year, $80 million dollar contract with an opt-out clause after two years. If he does not opt-out, Chen will have a vesting option for a sixth year. He'll just have to Wei his options. In any case, this gives the Marlins a decent starter to slot in behind Jose Fernandez and also leaves the Orioles' rotation pretty depleted. Also, the Colorado Rockies have signed Gerrado Parra to a three year deal, leading some to speculate that the Rockies will look to trade away one or more of their current outfielders. Carlos Gonzalez for Austin Romine perhaps? Get it done, Cash.
Comments of the Day
Again, if there's been one constant over the past few years, it's that the Yankees are pretty good at building a bullpen.
For the name puns alone, I wish the Yankees had brought Wei-Yin.
They probably couldn't afford to rent an apartment either.
I'm just glad no one posted a close up picture of Joe Torre's eyes.

Then baby said.
Honorable Mod Mention
Shah wins for his clever pungineering up above.
Fun Questions
- What do you think A-Rod has as a screensaver on his computer?
- Pick a Yankee player. Now pick a David Bowie song you think that player would come out to.

Song of the Day
Dance Magic Dance by David Bowie
It is David Bowie week on Pinstripe Alley. To say I love this movie would be an understatement. It is one of my favorite movies from the 80's. David Bowie, David Bowie's music, Muppets, and Jennifer Connelly. She recently had this to say about her co-star. It's very nice. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. In sadder news, the baseball world lost Hall of Famer Monte Irvin yesterday. The New York Times had a nice piece about him. You should give it a read. R.I.P. Monte Irvin.
