It's Labor Day Monday, and what better way to celebrate the working men and women of the world than with some good old fashioned American baseball? Today, the Yankees welcome the Orioles to The Stadium for the first of three big games for the Bombers. The Yankees have found it seemingly impossible to pick up ground on the Jays over the last month, and with the Jays coming to town Thursday for four humongous games, it would be nice if they could take care of the Orioles, starting today.
Michael Pineda, aka "Big Mike," will take the hill for the Yankees, while Wei-Yin Chen will go for the Orioles. Pineda is coming off of his best start since coming off the DL, while Chen had his start pushed back so that he could avoid facing the Blue Jays. Either way, Chen is a good arm, so the Yankees might have their work cut out for them.
First pitch will be at 1:05 PM from the Bronx, and you can watch it all on YES, and on ESPN in some areas as well. If you're too busy barbecuing, throw the game on the radio on WFAN, or 1280 Radio WADO for you spanish speakers. Lineups are below:
