Yesterday will definitely contend for one of the worst days of the season for the Yankees. First, we got news that Mark Teixeira, who was the best candidate for both Yankees' MVP and Comeback Player of the Year, will miss the rest of the season. We are all excited about Greg Bird, but losing Tex is a huge blow to the Yankees offense and their defense as well. Then, the actual game took place and it did not go well at all. The Yankees pitching could do little to nothing against the dangerous Blue Jays offense and here we are, 2.5 games behind them with a doubleheader to play today. It could be a long day today, but here's hoping the Bronx Bombers can brush away yesterday's loss and come away with at least one win today.
Comments of the Day
Never trust machines.
Just awful.
At this point I think the respect goes both ways. It should anyway.
GIF of the Day
Just so sad what happened to Teixiera after a monster year.
Honorable Mod Mention
Caitlin had to wait almost four hours to write a recap of yesterday's clusterbunt. She totally wins the HMM.

Song of the Day
Birdhouse In Your Soul by They Might Be Giants
It's For The Birds week on Pinstripe Alley. Decided to end this week's theme with this game from They Might Be Giants. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. This thread probably won't get much use today, what with the doubleheader and all that. Michael Pineda will pitch the first game while Ivan Nova pitches the second. Do better than yesterday, Yankees. Please.
