After a much needed day of rest and recovery after a long road trip, the Yankees are back in the Bronx to face off against the gutter dwelling, last place Boston Red Sox. I'm sure the networks will mention all the classic "rivalry" stuff that usually accompanies a Yankees vs. Red Sox series, but it falls a little flat this year. You know, cause the Yankees are in first place while vying for a playoff berth and the Red Sox are thirteen games behind us, literally one loss away from being tied with the Athletics for the worst record in the American League. Of course, this is hilarious for any Yankee fan that despises Boston, as you well should! This still simply boils down to the Yankees needing to continue collecting series victories, especially against bad teams like the Red Sox. Also, we could use a nice bounce back start from Masahiro Tanaka after his substandard outing against the Rangers.
