It's hard to tell whether this weekend's sweep of the Braves has more to do with the Yankees' offense coming alive or with how terrible the Braves pitching staff might really be. In any case, the Bronx Bombers definitely needed that jolt of batting power. With yesterday's win, the Yankees will finish with at least a .500 record for the month of August. What's amazing is that it's not even their worst month of the year, even though it might seem like it due to the Blue Jays stubborn, downright jerkstore refusal to lose. Ah well. They're going to keep doing them, so the Yankees have got to keep winning games and winning series. No better team to do that against than the last place, gutter-dwelling Red Sox.
Okay, technically they need to do that against the Jays a bit more. I just really like beating the Red Sox.Comments of the Day
The legendary Pinstripe Alley pun teamwork is fading fast. Abandon ship!
It's really really bad.

The tl;dr recap from yesterday's game.
Honorable Mod Mention
I win the HMM award because last night was the PSA Fantasy Football draft and I drafted the best team. Science can confirm this.

- What is your favorite kind of apple?
- Using Yankee player names, create the title of a parody song. (IE: Ells Gon Give It To Ya from DMX's X Gon Give It To Ya)
Song of the Day
Hello by Lionel Richie
It's Songs In Commercials Week on Pinstripe Alley. This song was used in one of my favorite commercials of all time. The creepiness in the Starburst commercial are spot on. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Ivan Nova will take the mound in the Revered Hall of Doubles tonight. Nova's last outing was the opposite of ideal, so here is hoping for a bounce back start tonight.
