PSA Comments of the Day 8/25/15: What an eoxcellent performance

After a disappointing series against the Indians, the Yankees needed a good bounce back win. Nathan Eovaldi helped provide them with one, pitching one of his best games of the year.

Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

In his last start against the Twins, Nathan Eovaldi retired the first sixteen batters he faced. He was pitching a perfect game before Tanya and I jinxed it. While there was no threat of perfection last night, there was still brilliance, excellence, and efficiency. It's safe to say that ever since that game against the Marlins where he didn't make it out of the first inning, Eovaldi has been the Yankees most reliable starter. Yesterday, in a game in which the Yankees could not score one run off of Scott Feldman, the Astros could not score one run against Eovaldi. Nasty Nate was very nasty yesterday, and it was a pleasure to watch. A great birthday present for Brett Gardner, if you ask me.

Comments of the Day

Mark Teixeira or Mr. Glass? You decide.

It wouldn't last the night.

Poor Rob Refsnyder.

Still not even his final form.

Amazing.

Carlos Beltran might be the Undertaker.

GIF of the Day

Still really miss Foul Territory.

As Matt F said, kshah is a national treasure.

Beltran has risen.

Victory!

Honorable Mod Mention

Tanya wins the HMM because yesterday was National Waffle Day. Not to mention she helped inspire one of today's fun questions.

Fun Questions

  • Name some of your favorite flavors of non-traditional ice cream.
  • How well do you think Larry Rothschild will be remembered when he is one day no longer on the team?

Song of the Day

London Callin by The Clash

It's 70's Rock Week on Pinstripe Alley. Here we have a song from Jack Curry's favorite band, The Clash. This is my favorite song from this group. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Ivan Nova takes the mound today as the Yankees go for the series victory against the Astros tonight. To do so, they will have to face Dallas Keuchel, a potential Cy Young candidate. Good luck.
