PSA Comments of the Day 7/20/15: Four in a row

New, 62 comments

Great pitching by CC Sabathia and a timely home run from Mark Teixeira help net the Yankees a victory over the Mariners, thereby earning them their fourth series victory in a row. Now they have a day off before they face the Orioles and try for series victory number five.

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

I might be exaggerating a bit, but I think yesterday went exactly like we all expected it to. It was Felix Hernandez vs. CC Sabathia for the rubber game of the series. The pitching duel that everyone here knew would happen did indeed happen. It was obvious from the beginning. The Mariners offense is not that good and the Yankees have scored off of King Felix in the past. Mark Teixeira hitting that home run off of Fernando Rodney was just the icing on that series victory frosted cake. So great job everyone. Our reasoned thinking and well thought out rationale for why the Yankees were going to win this series was uniformly rewarded. Pat yourselves on the back! The Yankees won their fourth series in a row. Now the Yankees have a day off before the Baltimore Orioles come into town for a three game series.

Comments of the Day

Who knew Dustin Pedroia could act? Perhaps his grit and hustle just got him through it all.

Justin credible puns right here.

Baseball is funny like that.

Rob Refsnyder was sent down to SWB yesterday. Yankee fans were understandably not happy about it.

This is not a bad idea actually.

GIF of the Day

Still my favorite GIF when Rodney blows a save or gives up runs.

Again, just not happy about Refsnyder's demotion.

Honorable Mod Mention

The HMMs go to Nik and Nic. Handling the Game Thread, Game Recap, and the Refsnyder news earns them honors!

Song of the Day

Day Tripper by The Beatles

It's Beatles Week on Pinstripe Alley. This will probably alternate from early Beatles to later Beatles this week. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. There is no Yankee baseball on at all, so take a well earned break. If you're on the East Coast, try and stay cool.
