It is time to return to your seats, Yankee fans. The intermission is over with and in just a short amount of time, act two of the 2015 regular season will commence. When we last saw our beloved first place Yankees, they were coming off a series victory against the last place Red Sox. That was their third series victory in a row, capping off a great beginning to the month of July and an excellent end to act one.
With the All-Star break behind them, the Bronx Bombers welcome the Seattle Mariners to Yankee Stadium. The Mariners have not had a great season at all. They are currently the second worst team in the American League, only a couple of games ahead of the Athletics in the loss column. The Yankees swept them in Seattle back in May. Doing that again would be very ideal.Comments of the Day
Jorge Mateo is really fast.
Pinstripe Alley had a new visitor yesterday. Mr. Keith Law himself.
Awkward.
GIF of the Day
It was a light day yesterday. No GIFs at all.
Honorable Mod Mention
No mod earns the HMM award. Not much honor to go around yesterday.
Fun Questions
- Create an inspirational speech/poem/haiku/etc. for the Yankees as they start the second half.
- What do you feel is the biggest issue going into the second half?
Song of the Day
Broken Wings by Mr. Mister
It really doesn't get much cheesier than this gem. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Masahiro Tanaka takes the mound against the Mariners tonight. The Yankees should do none of the bad things that they did in the first half, but rather do all of the good things they did instead. I think that's a sound strategy.
go yankees go baseball we can take what was wrong and make it right
