Can the American League make it three wins in a row against the Senior Circuit?

The time has come for Major League Baseball's 86th All-Star Game! There won't be any Yankees in the starting lineup unfortunately, but it seems likely that all three will get into the game somehow. Brett Gardner has always provided value through his speed and defense, so he would be quite useful off the bench, Mark Teixeira is the easy and safe pick to relieve starter Albert Pujols at first base, and AL manager Ned Yost certainly knows the value of dominant relievers like Dellin Betances waiting in the wings.

TV coverage of the game will begin on FOX at 7:00 with first pitch scheduled for 8:15. As cool as it was to watch Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter 's departure from the big league stage at the All-Star Games of the past two years, it will be nice to just watch it and not have one player be the overarching storyline hammered home by the FOX broadcast booth. Instead we just get an absolutely stacked group of young players ready to seize the stage, from defending MVP Mike Trout to Nationals star Bryce Harper, steamrolling toward the NL MVP honors this with the type of crazy numbers not seen since the prime of Barry Bonds. Welcome to the new age.

This game of course determines home-field advantage for the World Series (however silly that might be), so go ahead and win the dang thing, AL!

Go Yankees, go AL, go baseball, go weather, and most of all, stay healthy!
