Yesterday was quite the game. The Yankees, who have not had the best luck in extra inning games this year, beat the Mariners 5-2 thanks to the heroics of Stephen Drew and Garrett Jones. Yes, you read that correctly. In yesterday's COTD thread, we had an amazing callin' it moment in regards to the final score. I don't think anyone could have seen this coming. Still though, in a game of unpredictability, there was one thing that pretty much everyone saw coming. Of course I'm talking about David Carpenter and Girardi's continuing and maddening use of him in tight spots. This needs to stop. Chasen Shreve is pitching really well. Jacob Lindgren pitched really well. Justin Wilson, who made one of the best defensive plays you'll ever see last night, is also pitching decently. Besides Esmil Rogers, pretty much every bullpen option is a better choice than Carpenter. Utilize them.

Go Notes!
Cashman is not wrong, sadly.
Sorry folks. These are the rules. If you've never sat through an unbelievable amount of time waiting to connect to the internet, then you have to go.
I still think so.
Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back, Pinstripe Alley
Yep. Still though, he had every right to be pissed.
"Win some lose some!"
Harlan shouldn't have to put that in, but well here we are.
Pungineering and honesty!

My meal just arrived. Bone In Rib Eye with a side of Lobster Mac and cheese. It smells like 27 World Championships. pic.twitter.com/WLJXGGVQji

I get the HMM award, and so does Andrew for getting me in contact with NYY Steak.

Song of the Day
You Know My Name by Chris Cornell
It's James Bond Week on Pinstripe Alley. I mean, not only is it one of the best Bond song, but graphically it's one of the best openings as well. All around excellent. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Masahiro Tanaka makes his long awaited return from the DL. Here's hoping he pitches like the Tanaka we all know and love. Give him some run support, sweep the series, then head back home.
