PSA Comments of the Day 6/24/15: You're super, Nova

New, comments

After over a year of rehab, Ivan Nova makes his return.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Sigh. The Yankees are currently playing the worst team in baseball, and they are one game away from a sweep. They lost last night by a score of 11-6 because of yet another night of dreadful pitching. These are the games you absolutely need to win, and they just aren't getting the job done.

Today the Yankees take on the Phillies in the rubber game of their three game set, and this could be the toughest game of all three (yay). Cole Hamels will take the mound, and this could be one of his last starts as a Phillie. It's also the Yankees' last game before a seven game road trip, where they'll take on the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels. A win here certainly would make the flight a bit more enjoyable. Ivan Nova will also make his season debut after missing a full season due to Tommy John surgery, and I think we're all glad to see him back on the mound.

The game starts at 1 PM, and you can catch it on YES, MLB Network,, or WFAN radio. Who doesn't love day games?

If this is true, and Derek Jeter is actually paying Pinstripe Alley money for subliminal/native advertising, then please email me about direct deposit details. Thanks.

The Law does, indeed, win.

I would just like to take a moment to point out that A-Rod's 90th percentile PECOTA projection (pre-season) was: 14 home runs, .314 True Average, 2.5 WARP. As of last night, he was at: 14 home runs, .333 True Average, 2.1 WARP. Baseball is fun.

I definitely understand wanting to position yourself financially--and it's not like I care if the Yankees lose some money to a fan--but he could be a little bit more.... polite about it.

What a fantastic job by Tanya on the piece she did on the first woman to appear on the international registration list! Just, for the love of all things holy: do not read the comments.

Now pitching for the Boston Red Sox: me.

But in all seriousness, congratulations to Stephen Drew on having a child!

We are at the point where we are not shocked when CC Sabathia implodes. For a guy who could go to Cooperstown, this is pretty sad.

Bow down to the Red Hot Brett Gardner. We are not worthy.

Honorable Mod Mention

The HMM goes to Tanya, who did a really fantastic round table discussion on the importance of Melissa Mayeux, the first woman to be eligible for the international signing period.
