PSA Comments of the Day 6/17/15: Same team, different location

New, comments

The Yankees just got swept by the Marlins in Marlins Park. Hopefully the Marlins now get swept by the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. Oh, and it's okay to fear Giancarlo Stanton and our short porch. That's natural.

Yeah, pretty much this.
Yeah, pretty much this.
Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Yankees trip to Miami did not go so well. The offense did not amount to much and they wound up losing both games against the Marlins. At least we've learned that they need to score runs to win ballgames. In fact, scoring more runs than the opponent is a pretty good strategy for attaining victory. We can only hope that they've learned this lesson and are taking this precious new wisdom into tonight's game. Michael Pineda, coming off one of his worst starts this season, hopes to rebound against Miami tonight. Substantial Miguel will have quite the task of keeping Giancarlo Stanton's pop-ups from being dingers in the Bronx. Strikeouts and ground balls would do nicely.

Comments of the Day

LTL giving you two puns for the price, or penalty, of one.

Waffles is correct.

Bid welcome to our new baseball meme for the foreseeable future.

But seriously, the Cardinals hacking the Astros is almost cartoon-ish supervillain territory.

All hands, brace for impact.

Simply amazing.

Yep. Just sit back and relax.

Honorable Mod Mention

Andrew was pretty on point yesterday. Way to go, Andrew.

Fun Questions

  • What is you go-to dried nut? (Pecan, walnut, hazelnut, etc?)
  • How many combined home runs will be hit in tonight's game?

Song of the Day

I Want it That Way - 70's Soul Backstreet Boys Cover ft. Shoshana Bean by Postmodern Jukebox

It's Postmodern Jukebox week on Pinstripe Alley. Covers like this are why I love PMJ so very much. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Even though the Yankees lost no ground in the standings yesterday, they could really use a win tonight. Substantial Miguel, we need you now more than ever.
