Another season of Yankees baseball is underway, even though scheduling has decided that a team that has only played one game immediately needs a day off. To tide us over until baseball is back again, I thought today would be a nice time to once again call the lurkers out of hiding and have our regular commenters get to know each other a little better. If you have been reading for months and haven't ever taken the plunge to comment, welcome aboard! I'm so happy you've found our little corner of the internet. If you've been here for a while, I'm glad to have you back this season. The comment section can be one of the greatest things about this site and you all are the force that inspires our ideas and drives the conversation.
Tell us a little about yourself in the comments below. How long have you been a Yankees fan? What are you doing when you aren't watching baseball? What other sports occupy your time? Who is your favorite player? Which player do you hate the most? We might as well find out what we all have in common if we're going to spend the better part of a year or more being sometimes occasionally tortured by baseball.
I'll get things started. I'm Tanya and I'm 25 years old. I grew up in North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels were my first sports love, being dressed up in Carolina blue since birth. The Yankees followed shortly thereafter. My dad started taking me to minor league games to see the Yankees farm club in 1993 when some pretty fancy names were slumming it in Greensboro. I've been hooked ever since.
I have been a writer here at Pinstripe Alley since February of 2012 and took over as the managing editor of the site in June of 2013. Blogging sort of happened by accident when I decided to write a couple Fanposts for the site, and I guess the right people liked them enough to put me on the front page. Then they put me in charge of the place. Pinstripe Alley couldn't run without the help of my amazing editors, Andrew, Jason, and Caitlin. We're all pretty proud of what we're doing here these days.
Aside from the Yankees and the Tar Heels, I'm a big fan of the New York Giants. My current favorite Yankee is Jacoby Ellsbury, but Greg Bird will hopefully take that title soon enough. I have a thing for baby penguins and I really dig the long ball. The National League should adopt the designated hitter today and I wish Giancarlo Stanton was a Yankee, like, yesterday. You can follow me on Twitter @TanyaBondurant.
So that's me. I'd love to learn more about you. I look forward to reading your mini biographies below!
