Today is the last day of April. We are now less than a week away from opening day in the Bronx. Masahiro Tanaka will pitch what should be his final spring training game this afternoon against the Twins. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited. Real baseball. Soon.
Comments of the Day
Spring training is an interesting time, to say the least.
I really hope the Recs were for Air Force One and not Kate Smith.
Rob Refsnyder Beyond Thunderdome
It is indeed a sticky wicket we find ourselves in. Only time will tell.
At this point, I can only assume the A stands for Avalanche of Optimism.
GIF of the Day
There were no GIFs yesterday. Probably because there was no game. Both facts are sad.
Honorable Mod Mention
Tanya and Andrew get the HMM, both for bringing up the superbly, heroically named Skye Bolt and for their interview of Ben Lindbergh yesterday.
- Have you ever bought or been tempted to buy some product you saw advertised in a late night infomercial?
- Which is worse: Waiting in line at the DMV or going on a job interview?
Theme Theme Week on Pinstripe Alley gives me the chance to play a theme I have loved for as long as I can remember. I love Godzilla movies and I've always loved his theme. He's had quite a few over the years. Some of the more recent ones have been nothing short of stellar. But the original by Akira Ikufube will always hold a special place in my heart. As always, please link us your Song of the Day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. The Yankees take on the Twins, who still have one of the greatest baseball themes EVER, at 1PM. The game will be on MLBN. Our game thread will be up at 12:30PM. Join us.
The best part about using Godzilla's theme today is that I once again get to remind you that HE SAVED A CHILD'S LIFE BY HITTING A DINGER!!!
