I mentioned yesterday how some people were starting to hit a wall of meaningless spring training games. Ramon Flores broke down that wall yesterday with a walk-off three run home run. Meaningless baseball or not, that was super fun to watch. While the Tigers bullpen is
in mid-season form / in post-season form / still hot garbage / trying to resolve there issues from last season, upon further review of that dinger that ball bounced right off the right fielder's glove and over the wall. Oh well. The smile of Flores' face as he was coming home was awesome. Can I get a Let's Go Yankees up in here?
Comments of the Day
Victor's a fan of the cold and of winning, so this post by Optimus Mahbles was pretty much perfect.
You know, if an otter announced he was Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness, it might have improved the movie.
I probably would have gone as high as a B- personally. What a way to go though.
If you build it, they will pun.
"So Matt, who is your Esmil of the Week?" -Pinstripe Alley Podcast host Andrew Mearns
"Funny. Gardner doesn't look Drewish." - Barf from Spaceballs
Agreed. He is very much missed. FIRE CASHMAN!
What Waffles said.
Ah yes. This is back!
How can Aaron Judge steal a base? I mean, he IS the law after all.
GIF of the Day
Victor was in the COTD thread, not the recap thread. Somehow, Victor knew the Yankees were winning this game today.
The GIF Sgt. and I break it down hard with the victory GIFs.
Honorable Mod Mention
Andrew wins the HMM for pointing out how certain Yankee players are clearly older, real life versions of characters from The Sandlot.
- If Pinstripe Alley were a movie or TV show, who would you cast to play certain writers or commenters?
- Headphones: Over the ear or earbuds?
Since the Yankees are taking on their baseball cousins from Queens, I figured a little classic Nas would be appropriate for today. As always, please link us your Song of the Day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. The Yankees take on the Mets this afternoon at 1PM. Join us in our game thread, which will be live at 12:30PM.
