Today marks the beginning of the Winter Meetings. All eyes and ears will be focused on Nashville, Tennessee as trades and free agents signings are sure to be the talk of the town. Whether or not the Yankees get involved with this in any way remains to be seen. According to Brian Cashman, it's very possible that the Yankees are planning to stand pat and do nothing. They might make a minor trade here or there, but it doesn't look like they are going to get involved too much with the free agent market. We shall see.
At least we know that they will not be signing free agent pitcher Jeff Samardzija, as the San Francisco Giants have signed him to a five year, $90 million dollar contract. With the loss of Zack Greinke to the Diamondbacks, the Giants are willing to take a chance on Samardzija having a bounce back year after his substandard time with the White Sox. Johnny Cueto is still the top pitcher on the market. The Dodgers might be leaning towards him for the same reason the Giants acquired Samardzija.Comments of the Day

Song of the Day
Dazz by Brick
It's Got To Be Funky week on Pinstripe Alley. This week will be all about the funk. Today's song is more of the disco-funk variety, but it is funky nonetheless. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Aaron Hicks might be the biggest acquisition of the Yankees' offseason. Yay?
