While Brian Cashman hasn't made a move since the Justin Wilson trade, that doesn't mean he's not trying. He's reportedly trying to trade Ivan Nova (lol) and add a stable arm to a questionable rotation. While this train of thought does make sense from every angle, trading Nova is probably harder than one would hope, unfortunately. Supposedly the Reds said no to a trade that would've sent Johnny Cueto to the Yankees in exchange for Nova during this past years' trade deadline. I'm genuinely shocked the Reds would have said no to that.
Around the league though, the Mets did agree to a deal with a free agent veteran outfielder. Probably not the one Mets' fans wanted, but at least they now get to platoon Juan Lagares with Alejandro De Aza? We all know how great platoons are, right? They gave De Aza $5.75 million, with a chance to earn up to $7 million, because reasons. Also, the Dodgers seem to be one of the bigger suitors for Japanese pitcher Kenta Maeda. This makes sense after they lost out on Greinke, then backed out of their agreement with Iwakuma because of a failed physical. Behind Kershaw, their rotation could certainly use some help. Perhaps Nova could be of assistance?

Song of the Day
Dreams of Fireflies (On a Christmas Night) by Trans-Siberian Orchestra
It's X-Mas week on Pinstripe Alley. Originally I was going to use Christmas Eve/Sarajevo by TSO for today's song of the day but I figured I should save it and give another COTD writer the chance to use it tomorrow (hint hint). As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Should the Yankees try and pursue Maeda for the rotation or would he just be another question mark?
