There aren't many days left in 2015. For Yankee fans, most of that time will be spent wondering what Brian Cashman and the Yankees have up their sleeves for next year. Why, some other Comments of the Day thread makers have even written open letters to Brian Cashman, practically begging him to do something. It would be nice, as these opening paragraphs are getting more and more difficult to write. So please, do something.
A few days ago, it was reported that the Nationals had acquired second baseman Brandon Phillips from the Cincinnati Reds. As of yesterday, the trade is not happening and the Nationals are moving on. Jon Heyman tweeted why the Nats didn't agree to it.
Brandon Phillips sought an extension to OK nats trade. With $27M/2 yrs to go, he's already overpaid. Can see why teams didn't do that.

You almost have to admire Brandon Phillips for the sheer gumption alone. It's one thing not to waive his NTC to go to the Nats. It's an entirely different matter to ask for a contract extension for an already cringe inducing contract. If anything, if this doesn't convince the "trade Brett Gardner for Brandon Phillips" crowd to slowly back away from that idea, I do not know what will.
Comments of the Day
To say that I do not want Papelbon on this team would be a gross understatement.
Perhaps Starlin Castro will have a Mega Evolution one day.
GIF of the Day
I agree, doggie. I agree.
Honorable Mod Mention
Nikhil wins the HMM for his look into Starlin Castro.

Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire by Nat King Cole
It's X-Mas week on Pinstripe Alley. A pretty obvious week, considering the time of year. Yes, expect some holly jolly songs coming your way. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Any plans for the holidays?
