Yesterday, the hot stove was ablaze with the latest news coming from Boston. David Price, one of the premiere free agent pitchers on the market, was signed by our arch nemesis, the Boston Red Sox, to a seven year, $217 million dollar contract. Price is now officially the priciest pitcher in the game right now. How long that lasts will depend on how much Zack Greinke gets in his future deal. Rumor has it that the Dodgers and the Giants are both gunning for his services. Meanwhile, Price's deal comes with an opt-out clause in three years. This deal is a win-win for Price. If his three years in Beantown are superb, he can simply hit the free agent market again, much like Greinke is currently doing. If those years are sub-par, and we certainly hope they are, he can simply stay with the Red Sox. Here's hoping the cost is incorrect.
In other news, the Twins signed KBO first baseman Byung-Ho Park to a four year, $12 million dollar deal. What this means for current long time favorite Joe Mauer is unclear. Odds are that he'll split first base duties with him. Park is expected to bring a powerful bat into Target Field. The Pirates are rumored to be interested in Justin Masterson. Shockingly, the Red Sox decided not to bring him back. Meanwhile, the Yankees have done very little. The Winter Meetings are approachingComments of the Day

Serpentine Fire by Earth, Wind, and Fire
It's Fire week on Pinstripe Alley. Both the title of the song and the band name has the word "fire" in it. Can't go wrong with that. Plus, this is an amazing song. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Price is never leaving the AL East, is he?
