Fans waited the majority of November to guess as to what the Yankees were going to do this offseason. We had to wait till the fabled Winter Meetings to see if Brian Cashman would even do anything. Today marks the end of the Winter Meetings and Cashman has done not one, but two things. Tuesday night, he traded Adam Warren and Brendan Ryan to the Chicago Cubs for second baseman Starlin Castro. Yesterday, after abandoning the platoon plan with the Castro trade, he replenished the minor league system by trading Justin Wilson to the Detroit Tigers for Luis Cessa and Chad Green, two pitching prospects.
Wilson was an important part of our bullpen this season, to say the least. Wilson, Betances, and Miller were the only reliable members of the pen towards the end of the season. With his departure, the strength of "Wilson BetaMil" is no more. It is unclear why Cashman decided to make this move, but he stated that he has other moves in the works. "I'm not done," Cashman said before he repelled down a building into an Aston Martin, driving off to fight the forces of evil. Godspeed, Brian. We will see what else you have up your sleeve.Comments of the Day
More thoughts on the Castro trade.
Even more thoughts.
And some thoughts from the other side.
Like, on the mound at the same time? I think that's against the rules.
Ha. I get it!
As of now, this comment stream is the best thing about this trade.

This is fun to watch.
Honorable Mod Mention
Mett P wins the HMM for quickly getting up his article about Miller possibly being traded.

- In terms of food and food alone, what would you trade Brett Gardner for?
Song of the Day
Talkin' Loud and Sayin' Nothing by James Brown
It's Got To Be Funky week on Pinstripe Alley. There is no such thing as a Funk week without the hardest working man in show business. It's amazing how many people the phrase "talking loud and saying nothing" can apply to today. Like me, probably. As always, please link us your song of the day.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. What do you think Cashman does on the final day of the Winter Meetings?
