As Greg noted yesterday, we've now entered the waiting period where free agency has begun, but it hasn't actually begun. Qualifying offers were extended to players yesterday, players with opt out clauses, opted in or out, and free agents to be were finally freed. However, seeing as the Winter Meetings have not happened yet, it's very unlikely anything significant happens until then. Also noteworthy is that no player has ever accepted a qualifying offer, so expecting that to change to bring us some news is probably a lost cause. Hopefully today there'll be something exciting happening and there will be something to discuss.
Outside of the popular North American sports though, there was a game of cricket played at Citi Field yesterday. It was a tour organized by some of the sport's biggest names in Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. It was organized to showcase the game and try and make it more popular here in the States. The event's organizers said they would like to try and make it an annual thing. Originally this game was scheduled to be played at Yankee Stadium, so maybe if it comes back there might be cricket in the Bronx. Unfortunately, all we hear now is crickets. (I regret nothing).
Comments of the Day
You're killin' me, Smalls.
GIF of the Day
I try and try to find good comments or gifs to share here, but alas...I never can win.
Honorable Mod Mention
Andrew wins for doing the Vicente Campos Roster Report Card and having to re-live that disappointment. Everyone, take a shot for Andrew.

Song of the Day
The Girl From Ipanema by Frank Sinatra
It's now Sinatra week on Pinstripe Alley and I'd like to share with you one of my absolute favorite Sinatra songs (if not my actual favorite). I don't think I can ever tire of hearing his voice, it's so soothing. Although it's not an original Sinatra, his rendition is probably the most popular, and flows so well with the Portuguese mixed in.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. All three New York teams (I'm including Buffalo because it's in NY. You're welcome Greg, Harlan, and Q) have important almost must-win games. At least for the Giants and Jets they're must-win because they should win, whereas for the Bills it's probably mustier than the rest. Plus the Giants will have the return of JPP, so maybe there'll be some thing close to a pass rush which could be exciting. Also Gary Sanchez is absolutely raking in the Arizona Fall League. Or you know, let's talk about cheese. You decide your fate.
