Yesterday was the deadline for teams to extend qualifying offers to their players. Players including Zack Grienke, Jason Heyward, Wei-Yin Chen, Alex Gordon, and others are among a list of twenty players to get said QO. The Yankees were not one of the teams to do so. They elected not to offer anything that would qualify as a qualifying offer to the likes of Chris Young, Stephen Drew, and Chris Capuano. While some could question the decision not to give a QO to Young, the other two make complete sense. The two of them probably take the offer faster than the Yankees could offer it. Rejoice, for we may have seen the last of Drew and Capuano.
The waiting game is now in full effect. Do the Yankees go for a few of the players on that list, or do they simply stick with what they've got? Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to get an answer.Comments of the Day
