The offseason rolls on as Waitvember continues. As you've no doubt read by now, we have a rumor alert in the land of Pinstripes right now. This is a day I have been personally dreading, but have ultimately been expecting. Perhaps it's fitting that it's the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Brett Gardner, #11 himself, has been talked about in rumored trade discussions between the Yankees and the Mariners. Sigh.
Look, I understand that this is probably going to happen. Not this particular trade rumor, mind you, but something like it. The Yankees and Mariners have done business before and it's worked out alright. Brett Gardner's speed and defense would be very well utilized in the cavernous Safeco Field. James Paxton, a 27 year-old lefty who is suppose to be "Andy Pettitte-ish" with his delivery, is the supposed target, even though the primary reason to trade my gritty gutty hero is to make way for a Jason Heyward or Justin Upton. I get all of that. It just doesn't make this any easier.
