With the Pirates losing to the Cubs yesterday, the ALDS and NLDS matches are all set.

With the Yankees out of the postseason, watching baseball now means watching other, non-Yankee teams playing baseball. Yesterday was the NL Wild Card game between the Pirates and the Cubs. Just in case you didn't know, the Pirates and Cubs were the 2nd and 3rd best team in the major leagues. They finished with better records than any American League team. One team had to see their incredible season come to an abrupt end due to the one game Thunderdome match. Just like the Yankees could not overcome potential AL Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel in their game, the Pirates could not do anything against potential NL Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta. Yesterday's game just really makes you think how unfair divisions can really be at times. In any case, today begins the ALDS. The Rangers will play the Blue Jays at 3:30PM EST and the Astros will take on the Royals at 7:30PM EST. Both will be on Fox Sports 1.

Comments of the Day

I, for one, would not like the Yankees to take that approach.

I suppose that was an okay rant, as far as rants goes. As PSA's ranking rant expert, I approve.

I like Slade Heathcott, but I'd like to see a full healthy season from him before I hand him the keys to the outfield.

What Miranda said!

As I said in a fanpost, I'm gonna need a week or two before I can even get close to processing wild trade ideas.

GIF of the Day

No GIFs yesterday. GIFs will probably be scarce as the season is now over with.

Honorable Mod Mention

This HMM goes out to all the mods on PSA. It's been a long season.

Fun Questions

  • This probably isn't a fair question, due to the histories of both teams, but would you rather have the Yankees season this year or the Pirates season this year and have it end due to a one game death match?
  • Predict the final scores of the ALDS games today.

Song of the Day

No Scrubs by TLC

It's World Series Top 5 Billboard week on Pinstripe Alley, the week that honors the Yankees past 7 World Series teams. No Scrubs was the #2 song of 1999. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Which teams are you rooting for today in the ALDS?
