For the first time ever, there was a World Series game at Citi Field. And it was a good one. Game 3 of the Series saw Noah Syndergaard match up against Yordano Ventura. Thor, as Syndergaard is better known, did exactly what was needed of him, which was to keep the Mets in the game. Pitching six innings of three-run ball was enough to earn the rookie his first career World Series win in his first career World Series start. In the first few innings, the Mets and Royals exchanged leads back and forth. In the third inning the Mets took a 4-3 lead, that they would not relinquish, and a four-run sixth inning gave the Mets breathing room and all but sealed the game. Almost every hitter except Daniel Murphy broke out of their slump and carried the Mets to a win in a game they had no choice but to win. At least now, they've guaranteed a game on Sunday.
Tonight, however, rookie Steven Matz will take the mound in Game 4 against Chris Young (not really young). Personally I think this is the make-or-break game of the series. I believe for the Mets to have a legitimate chance in this series, they have to win all three games at home, and for the Royals to feel confident they have to win just one of three. Tonight's game, I think, is the most winnable for both teams as they send out their fourth starters and hope to just score enough runs to get by.
The Royals are a relentless and pesky bunch of guys that will make it a tough matchup for the young pitcher. The Mets may have an advantage in that tonight's starter, Chris Young, actually played in Game 1 and shut the team down. However, now that they've seen him and the way he pitches, there's reason to believe the Mets could learn from what they saw and take advantage of any bad pitches. Who knows what's actually going to happen, though? What I do know is that A-Rod should be in the booth every day.

Song of the Day
Humanism by Jon Batiste and Stay Human (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert theme)
It's TV Theme Song Week on Pinstripe Alley and I know when you think of TV theme songs, you traditionally think of scripted shows and the songs they use. While many of those shows have absolutely fantastic intros, sometimes shows you wouldn't think about don't get any love. That's what I'm here to do, share the love with the kids and allow them to understand the game more. Besides all that though, Colbert's theme is fantastic and deserves recognition.
Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. Game 4 begins at 8 P.M. tonight. Plus it's Saturday and Halloween so some scary stuff is bound to go down. Talk about that or any Halloween plans you may or may not have!
