PSA Comments of the Day 10/25/15: A few days 'til Tuesday

The start of the World Series is so far away, waiting around for it could make someone do crazy things. Like hiring a former GM to be a first base coach.

Both the ALCS and NLCS are over. So that means the World Series will be starting, right? Nope. We have to wait until Tuesday because if the NLCS had gone to a Game 7, that would have been played today and then the World Series could start Tuesday. But alas it didn't, so we have to wait. It would be nice if the start date could be fluid and moved up if the ALCS and NLCS ended before a Game 7 was necessary. But as nice as that would be, it also makes sense that MLB doesn't do that because people make plans around big events like the World Series, and changing the date could ruin things for people who had made arrangements to attend/watch World Series games. As Greg pointed out yesterday though, at least this should be an exciting series, and the baseball fan in me really hopes this goes the full seven. And because it's just hilarious at this point, I really hope Daniel Murphy homers in all of those games. Until then though, at least it's Sunday today and there's football today so at least there's something to do.

In other news, Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. will become the new first base coach for the Boston Red Sox. If one was a rational person (I'm not), one would remember how after he was let go as GM, Amaro had expressed interest in managing a team. Then one could make the connection that "oh manager is a completely different job than GM, so being a first base coach is probably just a first step to learn some stuff and then eventually get himself a managing gig." But as previously stated, I am not a rational person so my thoughts were simply "LOL." But really though, good luck with the new gig, Amaro, and hopefully you're as good as helping base runners steal as you were at being a GM.

Comments of the Day

I expect more from you, PSA.

GIF of the Day

Nothing really to see here...but why not? :D

Honorable Mod Mention

Matt F. wins because he revisited the Yankees 2013 season and highlighted their funniest/weirdest moments. Those Yankees won a game where Robinson Cano had 0 hits and Travis Hafner had 3!

Song of the Day

Black Sails Opening Title Sequence by Bear McCreary

It's TV Theme Song Week on Pinstripe Alley and I figured why not start off with one that I believe doesn't get as much recognition as it should. It's a purely instrumental opening, but there's a certain something about it that I just love. Also, it's a pretty darn good show as well, if you're looking for something to watch during the off season. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. There's football today, so you can discuss your fantasy teams and which player in particular is making it or breaking it for you. Or talk about how little sense the upcoming Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover makes. Whatever floats your boat.
