Around the Empire: Yankees news - 10/22/15

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: After CC Sabathia's up and down 2015, plus his off the field issues (which obviously come before baseball), the Yankees have a few options for how to use their former ace.  While sending him to the bullpen may be tempting, he did pitch well over the past two months of the season.  Isn't it better to see what he's got left in the tank?

NJ.com | Brendan Kuty: While the idea has been floated recently, it does not look like Hideki Matsui will be the Yankees next hitting coach.  Apparently Matsui enjoys traveling the country in a more relaxed role, helping Yankee minor leaguers.  Hey, enjoy retirement, Godzilla - you earned it.

ESPN New York | Andrew Marchand and Wallace Matthews: More opinions on whether to trade Brett Gardner (because apparently we don't already have enough), plus some interesting ideas about whether the Yankees should bring back Chris Young.

LoHud Yankees Blog | Chad Jennings: Taking a look at all the injury concerns the Yankees already have lining up for next year.  With an older team like this, though, injury worries are to expected.

MLB Trade Rumors | Steve Adams: It looks like the Yankees may not go after Yoenis Cespedes this offseason.  This makes sense, both because they have a full outfield, and whoever does sign him will have to (extremely) overpay him after his monster second half with the Mets.  No thanks.
