Just like the Avengers vanquished both Loki and Ultron, I have defeated both Kshah and his foolish Springsteen Week. Yes, good folk of Pinstripe Alley, your week long suffering is now over with. Well, at least your Springsteen suffrage. The sad fact remains that there is still no Yankees baseball. There is still the current postseason.

In the ALCS, the Royals have taken a 2-0 lead over the Blue Jays as both teams take today's travel day to head north of the border. Kansas City's pitching has held down the vaunted Toronto offense thus far. Perhaps their home turf, and I mean turf in the very real, horrible, and literal sense, will aid the Blue Jays tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Cubs and Mets faced off in Game 1 of the NLCS last night. It was a very nice pitcher's duel between John Lester and Matt Harvey, with Harvey coming out on top. Despite all the fluff, missed workouts, and poor statements he's made over the past month, he's still Matt Harvey and yesterday he pitched like it. Tonight, Jake Arrieta will take on Noah Syndergaard in Game 2. It should be another great pitcher's duel, however it's still baseball. Baseball will sometimes always find a way to baseball.

Honorable Mod Mention

Kshah wins for putting up a good fight and for doing half of the work with these COTD threads last week, a theme we might continue.

Fun Questions

  • If you were to put a new sports franchise in NYC, what sport, where would you put them, and what would you call them?
  • Classic PSA question. Best side-dish to accompany a meal?

Song of the Day

The Hero by Queen

It's Queen Week on Pinstripe Alley. Today's Queen song also comes from the classic 80's movie Flash Gordon. Classic might be a bit of a stretch, as it might only be classic to me. As always, please link us your song of the day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. The NLCS game isn't on until 8PM tonight. There is football on today, so please join us and discuss that as well. Talk about your fantasy teams. Perhaps share a recipe or three.
