"It's a beautiful day for a ballgame...Let's play two!"

As we wait for baseball to return, yesterday it lost one of its absolute best. Ernie Banks, who played for the Negro League Kansas City Monarchs before playing his entire Major League Baseball career for the Chicago Cubs, passed away yesterday at the age of 83. The outpouring of admiration for "Mr. Cub" can be seen just about everywhere, from those who knew the amazingly good person he was to those who grew up admiring his incredible baseball skills. A true baseball icon and just a wonderful human being. He will be missed.

Comments of the Day

Matthew Funtime is back and he brought an incredible penguin GIF with him.

We got jokes!

It's good to know some of the mods have my back. Now if we could only get them to start using Girinder more.

What a witty retort.

Jason is correct.

Waffles is amused.

Well, you heard Darth Mahbles. Get to work, Andrew.

I propose we have a race around the world to determine home field advantage!

Yeah, b-rar is not b-wrong with what he says.

GIF of the Day

We do love our cute animal GIFs around here.

Especially those that deal with Baby Penguins, like Victor!

Finally, some GIFs acknowledging Andrew's fantastic work yesterday.

Honorable Mod Mention

I told you that Andrew would win the HMM for his top Bud Selig moments article yesterday. I wasn't lying.

Fun Questions
  • Whenever you visit a place for a vacation or random trip, what do you like to pick up as a souvenir? (If anything)
  • Classic question to end Star Wars week: What color would you choose for your Lightsaber?
Song of the Day

Yoda by Weird Al Yankovic

Because I had no choice. As always, please link us your Song of the Day.

Feel free to use this as your open thread for the day. What would you like our next theme week to be?

Well I'm not the kind that would argue with Ben.
