Game 140: New York Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals - McCarthy vs. Duffy

New, comments

Brandon McCarthy gets the start in the second game against the Royals.

Peter Llewellyn-USA TODAY Sports

Last night's game was very much a microcosm of all the frustrations of this season. I'd like to say it can't get worse, but there's been a couple times where it couldn't get worse and then it did. At the very least, it would be very difficult for the offensive production to get worse. Brandon McCarthy will get the start for the Yankees, so if the offense does decide to not do much, at least he might keep them in the game. Danny Duffy will get the start for the Royals.
