Game 136: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox - Greene vs. Kelly

With the roster increased through September call-ups, the Yankees aim to begin a last-ditch stretch run to the Wild Card.

Andy Marlin-USA TODAY Sports

After an irritating and disappointing series loss against the Blue Jays in Toronto, the Yankees seek to get back on track against the cellar-dwelling Red Sox. This is far from the same Red Sox group that won so many games last year. They should absolutely be beaten, and more losses will only make the Yankees' faint playoff hopes grow dimmer and dimmer.

The Yanks will count on rookie Shane Greene to come up big again with another solid start and hope that the underachieving offense finally finds a groove at the most pivotal time of the season. There's no time to waste.

"We play today, we win today, dassit." Go Yankees, go Rangers (who play the Royals), go Athletics (who play the Mariners), go rain in Cleveland (Indians & Tigers facing each other), go baseball.
