The Yankees are currently riding high on a five-game winning streak, matching a season high from back in April. If they can beat the Tigers tonight they'll go 6–0 for the first time since July of 2013. The Yankees find themselves in a position to control their own destinies at the moment. While they've been a disappointing team overall, they currently sit just 2.5 games out of a wildcard spot and they'll be facing the team just above them in the standings over the next three days. If they can continue to benefit from solid pitching and maybe even score some runs like they did last night, maybe, just maybe, the Yankees can push past the scuffling Detroit Tigers and set themselves up for a real chance at the playoffs with the Angels, Athletics, and Mariners all currently battling for the two AL wild card spots. Could this team actually start to become interesting?
As you might have guessed, this game is going to start in a rain delay. No word on a first-pitch time. #yankees #tigers
